Today is a Tuesday and we went on a cessna plane. I was fun and exciting although it made me just a little bit nauseous.
Today is a Monday and Mr. Hafez is lecturing again today. We were supposed to work more on the project today but Mr. Hafez wanted to lecture about more subjects, so he cut our work time. This move was admirable by Hafez because it shows his true drive and love for teaching, especially since he isn't graded by how much we learn. He just wants us to know more about the physics and calculus that governs the fiend of mechanical engineering, and I respect that. But I wanted to work on my project some more today so I was sad. Today is a friday and today we finally had some time to work on our projects. I really don;t want to do this project. I already have a very small amount of free time to spend between dinner and bedtime. And in that time I am occupied with copious amounts of AP homework and fun activities with my cluster friends. I hope that not only would I complete this project and do well on it, but I would also do all of my AP homework by the end of Cosmos. Today was a Thursday and our cluster and I went out for an outing. We went to see a company which had built the first flying car. They housed many designs for their flying car, including a model that looks like a UFO. They also had a really cool-looking engine had consists of a rounded triangle rotating around a gear. After that me and my group went to a thrift shop and we bought stuff. All in all the day was pretty fun. Today is a Wednesday. I list the day of the week in all of my posts primarily to remind myself of the day it is today. Today we learned more about fuel cells and about how they work and operate. We also learned about the structure of the fuel cell and about magnetism. I was very interested in today;s lecture. Today is Tuesday and we did two labs today. I like labs a lot more than lectures because labs are hands-on and lectures are not. We collected launching data from a catapult and we tried to make out catapult hit an alien that was an x distance away from it with a small ball. It was very fun and I remember collecting data and drawing things on the blackboard with Dominic and Kimberly when we had nothing to do. We also started playing the Kerbal Space Program in the computer lab and honestly it was a little boring.to be honest. I created my rocket but I made the fins uneven so it wouldn't go straight up. I had some fun then by tilting it in one direction so it goes in a circular motion. It left a beautiful spiral trail of smoke behind it before the rocket spiraled a little too close to the ground and crashed. Today is a Monday and we learned about sensors and actuators. Honestly, I had to struggle to stay awake during today's lecture because yesterday I forgot that I had class today, because I have already reverted back to my summer sleeping schedule, and so I had about 6 hours of sleep last night, which isn't that bad actually. But the air seemed like a warm, tangible, and enveloping blanket that I couldn't get off me. Horsley also liked to have his light dimmed during his lecture, so I thought that I could have a quick 5-minute refresher nap to recover and get a good start for the rest of his lecture, but I lost track of time in my nap and he woke me up. I felt bad so I tried even harder to stay awake for the duration of his lecture and I succeeded in doing that. Today is a Sunday and it is another free day. I don't really remember what I did today. I think I went like bowling or something. Oh yeah I watched the World Cup today with my cluster buddies. Germany beat Argentina 1-0, and Germany;s only goal was worth the 1.5+ hours of nothingness and boredom that I sat through before the most exciting goal of the match. I also did some summer homework today, so I am proud of myself because of that. It has been a week since the start of Cosmos but the week felt like a month because of the condensed lectures we have received from Hafez and the new and wonderful people I had met this week. This week lasted forever and I hope that the other 3 weeks will also last forever, because I will never get bored of all the wonderful people in my cluster. All except for Raymond. I'm so done with him. Assigning every new day a number in my blog title is getting cumbersome, but I don't know what to change it to yet. I was considering changing it to the day of the week it was that day, but I would also have to specify which day of the week it is, because there will be several more weeks in this blog. Anyways, today is Saturday and it is the first entirely free day we've had this week. I took advantage of the absence of class today by going to bed at 1:30 AM and waking up at 11:30. After consistently sleeping for 7 hours a night everyday last week, the 10 hours of sleep last night felt like heaven. Today is a Friday and today Hafez proved the conservation of momentum using an example of a rocket going into space. I thought that was pretty cool because i think physics is pretty cool. We also blew long balloon rockets and released them in class. It was very fun, however, everyone's rockets flew up into the ceiling when they were released, but my rocket always sinks to the ground and it doesn't rise up like all the other rockets and I didn't think that was fair at all and my rocket and I both felt socially excluded because my rocket couldn't rise up and preform. |
